I am based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I specialize in location photography for advertising, editorial and corporate clients. Photography to me is a combination of passion, responsibility, dedication, team work and reliability. It is a life long learning process where every subject or object being photographed has something new to offer.
Books, music and great photographers like Ernst Hass, Eugene Smith, Ralph Gibson, Pete Turner, Jay Maisel, John Paul Caponigro and the likes have been a huge influence in my work and work ethics. "Timeline" narrates my journey as a photographer.
The most important aspect of my work is communication. Whether it is selling a product or service or creating work for wall decor, there has to be a strong communication that reaches and connects with the audience. I strive to learn, understand and communicate.

Everything went well at the show, the booth looked excellent. The image panels drew a lot of people into the booth and surprisingly so did the podium panel. No one else had a podium panel made up. 01I am self taught. My photography GURU, Sethu, intorduced me to the basics - aperture, shutter, light and exposure in mid-eighties. The GURU recommended that I buy a Pentax K1000 camera and Richard Sharabura's book "Shooting your way to a $-Million". The book became an invaluable tool over the next few years to learn the craft and to know what is expected of a commercial photographer. Click here to view the book.
02I launced my career as an advertising photographer in 1990. Within weeks of my launch, I was hired for a financial services advertising campaign. This campaign got the attention of other potential clients. Click here to view the tearsheet. This is my first published work. This campaign help me learn: budgeting, scheduling, working on a team and being resourceful.

04After moving to Dubai, I felt the need to get a completely unbiased review of my work. I decided to submit a portfolio of images from my project: Burj Al Arab. The panel at Royal Photographic Society, UK were very impressed and I was awarded the distiction - ASSOCIATE. I consider this as an important milestone in my photographic career. In July 2000, RPS Journal featured my work as COVER STORY. Click here to view.
05I was on my seventh frame and Nelson Mandela asked, why are you taking so many pictures of an old man? pauses..and says send me some copies, my grandchildren don't believe that I am famous and I want to show them, these photos...laughs... click here to view the photograph taken at that very moment. It was a great moment to be standing next to him. One more reason to be happy doing what I am doing - taking pictures.
